Coding: Collective Ownership

At the very least, use personal version control.

• CVS, Perforce, MSSS, even RCS is better than a stack of tarballs

• Collect other people's versions, put them into yours

  • You become their backup

  • Your personal VC becomes valuable to the rest of the team

• Encourage other people to use your VC

• Sacrifice an hour to train others on the VC

  • CVS is not obvious

The hope is your personal VC will become the team VC.
